A founding member of the successful 90s band Rusted Root, Jim Donovan is a musician, educator and inspirational trainer whose mission is to empower, inspire and connect people. Jim works to bring the connective power of music to everyone and uses music as a vehicle to teach personal wellness, teambuilding and strengthening of community. Jim makes the benefits of group music accessible to anyone, regardless of ability, and can tailor make experience according to the needs and goals of your group.

During his work with Rusted Root, Jim shared arena stages with rock legends like Carlos Santana, The Grateful Dead, members of Led Zeppelin and Sting, among many others. Over the past three decades, he has performed thousands of concerts and learning events across the US and Europe. He currently performs with his groove-rock band Sun King Warriors and, as an educator, brings his motivating, big-hearted energy to every event he leads. Jim holds a BA in Music Performance from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters in Education Leadership from Saint Francis University, where he is also on the faculty. He is the author of Drum Circle Leadership, and regularly offers training to organizations that teach people how to lead group music-making as a way to support wellness and social connection.
