Dr. Cyril H. Wecht is a Nationally-Acclaimed Forensic Pathologist, Attorney and Medical-Legal Consultant. With over 40 years of experience as a forensic expert, Dr. Wecht has spent the majority of his life seeking social truth and justice for some of the world’s greatest mysteries – from the assassinations of both President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy to the death of Elvis Presley, the O.J. Simpson case, and the mysteries surrounding JonBenet Ramsey, Chandra Levy, Laci Peterson, Casey Anthony and many, many more. Dr. Wecht’s expertise has been utilized in many high-profile cases and he has been consulted by both plaintiffs and defense attorneys in civil cases and by both prosecutors and defense attorneys in criminal cases through the US and abroad. He has performed approximately 17,000 autopsies and has supervised, reviewed or has been consulted on approximately 30,000 additional postmortem examinations.

Dr. Wecht is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic, clinical and forensic pathology and is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He is a Clinical Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Graduate School of Public Health and also holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at Duquesne University School of Law, School of Pharmacy, and School of Health Sciences. He has authored over 550 professional publications, including comprehensive studies of cases from his own perspective and professional involvement including “Cause of Death”, “Grave Secrets” and “Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?”.  He was portrayed by Albert Brooks in the 2015 film Concussion. In the film, he was a staunch supporter of Bennet Omalu’s efforts to expose the link between concussions and football.
